African event this Saturday!

G'day Everyone,
Long time, no see. Work has been busy since Golden Week so I haven't had much time to update this blog.

Are you all coming to the African event this Saturday? I don't really know that much about African culture but I am really looking forward to seeing the movie 'Chokora!' and hearing Ms. Matsushita talk about her experiences in Africa. I am also really looking forward to Sakaki Mango's live performance because I have heard he is quite popular throughout the rest of Japan (I wonder why he isn't so popular in Kagoshima? After all he was born here).

Anyways I still have a lot of work to do so I will get back to it now...If you end up coming to the event on Saturday, make sure you come and say hello to me : )

  1. hi nathan,
my name is kenji and am from now Kanoya (So-gun, originally), lives in the US. i wanted to get in touch with you to chat with you about this june 17th event (sorry it's sorta late), as well as to discuss if there's anything i can do to help with what you do there. i was in japan last april and realized i need to do something for my small village (it's dying, yes). it is now a part of kanoya city; however, the core value of what made a nice village is disappearing just like any other small villages all over the world. i'd like to start up something to bring life back in that little village, as well as to establish some sort of cross cultural activities to city of kanoya and the US. hope this email/comment will find you.
    thanks
    kenji

  2. Hi Kenji,
Thank you for your comment. Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier but I have been getting our international association ready for the upcoming Summer Festival. I have never been to Soo, but I know the current ALT who lives there. What are you doing over in America? We (the Kanoya International Exchange Association) would be happy to have you help us with U.S./ Kanoya cross-cultural activities...What have you got in mind?
    Regards
    Nathan
